But before you can get creative with volume, hybrid, or wispy sets, you’ll need that all-important license from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). Here’s exactly what Texas requires so you can get your lash artist journey underway:
Complete 320 Hours of Approved Lash Training
You’ll need to enroll in a TDLR-approved beauty school and finish a 320-hour Eyelash Extension Specialist course. These programs cover everything from safety and sanitation to advanced application techniques. Be sure to pick a school that provides hands-on experience, a good starter kit, and plenty of support to help you master the basics (and beyond).
Pass the State Exams—Written and Practical
After training, you must pass two exams through TDLR:
